The GE PGE29BYTFS Smart Refrigerator has all the features you would expect from a refrigerator within this price range. This includes Wi-Fi as well as app support, and GE's SmartHQ Software. The app is available on iOS and Android devices and lets you control your refrigerator from any place around the world. It also offers a lot of customization options. It will also send you notifications when the door is unlocked, when the fridge or freezer requires defrosting, and when the filter requires a change. It also has a huge bin that can accommodate plenty of frozen food items as well as a separate ice storage bin. Another awesome feature of this refrigerator is its Smart InstaView panel. You can manage the temperature, lighting and other aspects of your fridge using your smartphone. It's a great way to monitor and manage your refrigerator, particularly if you're away from home. The Smart InstaView feature is neat but it doesn't improve the efficiency of the fridge. The fridge took a bit longer to defrost food and chill it than other models we tried. This could be due to the greater capacity. The other issue we have with the doors of this refrigerator. The handles with a sunken design allow shorter people to open them from the bottom. However taller people will struggle to close them without slamming them. It would have been much better if they came with a front-mounted handle. It's also less expensive than the top counter-depth refrigerator that has an ice maker, which can make it a desirable choice. Frigidaire Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator If you're looking for a French door refrigerator that won't cost you a fortune, this Frigidaire is a solid option. It's a basic fridge that may not be as eye-catching as its rivals, but it still has enough features to make a an excellent option. Its most notable feature is the adjustable temperature drawer, helps to keep food items like meat and vegetables fresher for longer. It also comes with a huge water dispenser and a decent Ice machine that is fast. Another nice feature is the “Chill Drawer” that sits above the two crisper bins. This drawer lets you redirect a portion of the refrigerator's cooling power directly into this area, so you can put away food items that need extra attention. You can adjust this feature using an adjustable slider that is located just in the middle of the drawer. You can also alter the general cooling settings for the entire fridge. I have found that the generic settings work better than the specific ones. In my tests, the temperatures of the refrigerator were fairly consistent across all areas of the fridge. The temperatures in the top and bottom of the fridge didn't stray much from 38 degrees, and even the middle of the fridge was within a degree of 36. This is a great performance however it doesn't be among the top in our ratings. This fridge has a few other neat features, including a temperature-monitoring display that alerts you to fluctuations and provides a forecast for the day ahead. You can also connect this fridge to a smart thermometer for more precise measurements of your fridge's temperature. The exterior of the Frigidaire is made from grey-bodied stainless that has a “smudge resistant” finish. It does a great job of repelling fingerprints and streaks even when compared to the glossy stainless steel finishes on other appliances I've tested.
